Tuesday:

  • Morning (9am - 1pm) Samba Workshop We will explore all things Brazilian percussion ranging from traditional to more contemporary instruments. By the end of the session, students will be able to play standard Samba grooves, just like the ones in Rio De Janeiro carnival! Students will learn a fun Samba arrangement of a well known pop song - come and find out how Samba can be applied to modern music! Samba, funk, pop fusion...don't miss out!

  • Lunch (1pm-2pm)

  • Afternoon (2-5pm) Outdoor Games and Samba themed Arts and Crafts

  • Performance (4:50-5pm) Group performance: Upon pick up, parents, guardians and carers will be invited to see what students learnt in the Samba workshop!

Wednesday:

  • Morning (9am - 1pm) Band Workshop Day 1 (We recommend you attend Day 2 + 3 also). The first day is all about discovery. Children will be introduced to a variety of band instruments – from keyboards and drums to guitars, vocals, and percussion. Through guided games and creative group tasks, they’ll explore how each instrument plays a unique role in a band.

Even complete beginners will be supported in finding sounds and keeping a beat, while more experienced players will be gently challenged with parts that suit their level. Everyone will try different instruments and begin working in small groups to jam, improvise, and create short musical ideas together.

  • Lunch (1pm-2pm)

  • Afternoon (2-5pm) Trip to Costa del Croydon via Bus. Travel schedule here.

Thursday:

  • Morning (9am - 1pm) Band Workshop Day 2 (We recommend you attend Day 1 + 3 also) Now it’s time to turn ideas into songs. Bands will begin rehearsing together, learning how to listen, play in time, and support each other musically. With help from friendly music leaders, children will explore how to structure a song, keep a steady rhythm, and add their own creative flair – whether that’s a drum groove, a melody, or a set of fun lyrics.

Workshops will also include warm-ups, mini performances, and confidence-building games. Each band will start shaping their piece, ready for a performance on the final day.

  • Lunch (1pm-2pm)

  • Afternoon (2-5pm) Trip to Endurance Steel Orchestra for Workshop. Travel schedule here.

Friday:

  • Morning (9am - 1pm) Band Workshop Day 3 (We recommend you attend Day 1 + 2 also) The final day brings everything together. Bands will rehearse and polish their pieces, working on their performance skills – from starting and ending together to using body language and expression to bring their music to life.

Whether it's a high-energy pop cover, an original jam, or a funky instrumental groove, every child will take part and shine as part of their band. No experience? No problem. Already play an instrument? Amazing! Everyone’s contribution matters, and every child will leave feeling proud, included, and inspired.

  • Lunch (1pm-2pm)

  • Afternoon (2-4:30pm) YMS Cinema Screening at Trinity. To wrap up a creative film music session, we will wind down the day with an in-house cinema screening (certificate U) and arts and crafts.

  • Performance (4:50-5pm) Group performance: Upon pick up, parents, guardians and carers will be invited to see what students learnt in the Samba workshop!
